Caroline Kant is a founder and the CEO of the EspeRare Foundation. Before founding EspeRare, Caroline served 6 years in leadership roles building the R&D Knowledge Management department at Merck Serono. Prior to that, in the United States, she helped launch 3C Interactive, a software company in Silicon Valley, while leading the "rebranding" of several designer labels. Caroline holds degrees in molecular neurobiology, design and product development. She was educated in Geneva and in California.
Michel Jaccard is the founder of id est avocats, a corporate, IP and technology law firm based in Lausanne.
He acts for entrepreneurs and venture capital funds alike and also regularly helps traditional businesses navigate the world of advanced technologies, distributed computing, open source, data protection and cybersecurity, and more generally manage their online presence and digital transformation.
Michel holds a JD and PhD from the University of Lausanne and an LLM from Columbia Law School (Stone Scholar, Fulbright grantee). He is admitted to practice in Switzerland and New York, and has been highly recommended in Corporate/M&A, Technology, Media/Telecoms and Intellectual Property for the past 10 years by leading guides such as Chambers and Legal500. He has taught IP, corporate law, technology law and data protection for many years in Swiss universities.
He also maintains a blog on innovation and technology law and frequently acts as jury member or mentor in national and international startup competitions.
