Abstract submission

The SIB Days are a unique occasion for SIB members to present their work to the SIB community and promote collaborations.

Abstract types:

  1. Poster + Poster spotlight
  2. Talk (15 minutes + 5 minutes Questions & Answers)
  3. Lightning Talk (5 minutes, for PhD students only)

There were two poster sessions:

  • first one on Tuesday, 26 June 2018, between 12:50 and 14:50
  • second one on Wednesday, 27 June 2018, between 13:00 and 15:00.

There was an Award for the best poster presentation. In addition to the previous years, we organized a Poster spotlight session on Tuesday, 26 June 2018, between 12:10 and 12:50. Twenty persons, selected by the scientific committee, were given 2 minutes to present their poster and to encourage the audience to come by during the poster session.

Following feedback from the previous edition, the total number of poster spots might be restricted to guarantee the comfort of both presenters and the audience (first come first serve basis).

The talks took place on Tuesday, 26 June 2018, between 14:50 and 16:20 in two parallel sessions. Each talk was 20 minutes with 5 minutes time for discussion.

The lightning talks took place on Wednesday, 27 June 2018, between 9:30 and 10:25 in a plenary session and allow the selected students to briefly introduce their project. They were reserved for PhD students and were 5 minutes each. The best lightning talk was acknowledged with an Award.

Please note that if you have submitted an abstract, you were expected to register for the SIB Days 2018 and pay the corresponding registration fee (if applicable).

The abstracts were posted on the SIB Days conference app, which contains the programme and additional information about the SIB Days.

The use of Twitter and other social media was allowed during the SIB Days 2018. If you do not wish to have your talk or poster tweeted, please make this clear at the moment of the presentation. Here is a handy symbol.
